Most software gets worse as it grows.
Every release adds a setting, a tab, a second way to do the thing you already did. The app that solved one problem cleanly turns into the one you avoid opening.
We start from the opposite end. One core feature, chosen before anything else, and a refusal to ship the things that only make the product bigger.
How I work

Start at the core
The first decision is what the product does when everything else is stripped away. Every later decision is measured against it.

Everything else earns its place
Supporting features are welcome, but only when they make the core thing stickier. A feature that merely adds surface does not ship.

Ship, then subtract
Real use tells you what nobody touches. We take those things out again, which is the part most software never does.
